Casual backyard wedding. Formal bridesmaid dresses and groomsmen in tuxes or no?
If I’m having a casual backyard wedding and wearing a pretty simple wedding dress, should I have the bridesmaids wear formal matchy matchy dresses and the groomsmen in tuxes? Or do you think it would look nice if groomsmen wore slacks and a button up shirt and bridesmaids all bought regular dresses along the same color scheme?
It’s your wedding so do what makes you happy! I would say no to formal attire since it is a casual wedding. Give the bridesmaids some paint chips of acceptable colors and tell them to find their own dress that matches it or find a casual dress from somewhere like Urban Outfitters or somewhere that isn’t very expensive that has a wide range of sizes and get them to all wear casual matching dresses. It’s way easier for guys to match in a casual way than for girls so I don’t think that needs much explanation!
